Sophia Systems has developed the Sandgate 3-P development kit, a reference platform for handheld IP-phones based on the Marvell PXA310 MCU running at 624MHz.

The Sandgate 3-P PXA310 hardware is optimized for handheld OS standards such as Microsoft Windows Embedded CE 6.0, Windows Mobile 6 and Linux, including the Qtopia Phone Edition. The wireless handheld reference platform offers video acceleration.

In addition to the Board Support Package (BSP), Sophia's Sandgate series PXA reference kits provide integrated services, including OS migration/BSP as well as middleware of various types, plus drivers for installed parts on the PXA reference boards.

The Sandgate 3-P development kit supports on-chip debugging, by integrating the company's EJ-Debug JTAG emulator for PXA3xx. The Watchpoint debugger running on a host PC and connected to the EJ-Debug unit is equipped source-level debugging, branch trace reconstruction and provides access to specific functions of the PXA built-in register sets via a special window.
