Aiming to increase their PC market share in China, a report from a Taiwan PC manufacturer claims that Dell and China's Haier have expressed their interest in acquiring China PC manufacturer Founder.

This is according to ChinaTechNews, which stated that Founder, which ranks third in China's PC manufacturing market behind Lenovo and Hewlett-Packard, has seen a continuing decline of sales and market share in the past five quarters. Haier, which is the sixth largest PC manufacturer in China, has expressed its hope of acquiring Founder to expand its laptop computer business.

According to the report, based on Haier's financial status, the company is capable of acquiring Founder. However, since Dell has not yet fully formed a complete retail base in China, it may consider to acquire Founder at this time. Besides Dell and Haier, Taiwan-based Acer is also reportedly interested in the acquisition.
