Renesas opens LSI design facility in Vietnam

Renesas Technology Corp. has announced that it has completed the construction of a new building for Renesas Design Viet Nam Co. Ltd (RVC), its design subsidiary in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Construction of the new facility started August 2006 and was completed September 2007. Full-scale operations subsequently commenced.

RVC was established October 2004 with the aim of enhancing Renesas' design and development resources for system LSI devices with advanced functionality. At the helm of RVC is Hideo Hara, CEO and president. The wholly owned subsidiary has around 240 employees.

The new facility consists of a four-story building with a total floor area of 10,000m? and can accommodate approximately 500 engineers. The facility has the latest infrastructure support including servers and EDA tools and has enough space for additional expansion, if needed.
