Telecom equipment and network solutions provider ZTE Corp. has sealed a power supply purchase deal with Telekom Malaysia. Under the agreement, ZTE will provide 70 percent of the purchase order for power products. These include the supply of telecom equipment such as mixed-base station power system, and embedded power systems, in line with Telekom Malaysia's goal of improving their fixed-line telecom business.

The ZTE-Telekom Malaysia deal marks the first time a China provider has secured a power supply arrangement and entered the Malaysian market.

"It is indeed a great opportunity to be the first Chinese company to forge a partnership with a Malaysian carrier company as large as Telekom Malaysia," said Li Guangyong, general manager of Power Products, ZTE. "We are committed to be part of the drive to further sustain the growth of Malaysia's telecom market."
