Fujitsu Asia has announced seven dual- or quad-core Xeon-based Primergy Servers for Southeast Asian markets.

The servers are designed for Linux and Windows Server 2003 platforms. The TX150 S6, TX200 S4 and TX300 S4 are tower servers; the RX100 S5, RX200 S4 and RX300 S4 are rackmount servers; and the BX620 S4 is a blade server. All the models are powered by dual-core or quad-core Xeon processors, the first processors to be manufactured on a 45nm process, giving them nearly twice the transistor density of chips built on 65nm technology.

The TX servers deliver enhanced performance and reduced power consumption, making them ideal for enterprises that demand superior performance, reliability, scalability and flexibility without compromising business continuity. They are appropriate for business critical applications with high availability needs, such as: database servers; e-commerce application servers; communication servers for gateways, domains and firewalls.

The RX series offers a flexible platform for data centers and server farm concepts, catering excellently for applications that demand maximum scalability, performance and availability in a space-saving rack cabinet.

Suitable as an application or terminal server for CPU-intensive tasks, the BX620 S4 blade server offers a large memory configuration and abundant communication options for virtually any data centre.

All seven new Primergy offerings may be configured with the Serial ATA interface, or the Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) interface. Servers configured with the SATA interface incorporate SATA HDD with a 3.5-inch form factor, while SAS-configured machines include SAS HDDs with a 2.5- or 3.5-inch form factor.

In addition, all serial ATA and SAS HDDs are hot-pluggable and, in tandem with fully-redundant fans and power supplies, enhance the servers' reliability, availability and serviceability performance.

All seven new Primergy servers will be available for Southeast Asian markets¡ªincluding Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam¡ªmarkets beginning December.
