Illuminated tactile switch touts 'see-hear-touch' effect

C&K Components has developed a compact top-actuated illuminated tactile switch. The K5AT surface-mount tact switches feature a high-brightness single or bi-color integrated LED for backlight illumination.

The K5AT series switches can withstand an actuation force from 4N to 40N, which make them suitable for a number of circuit reset applications. The switches also tout a "see-hear-touch" effect with its quick actuation response, audible click and visual recognition via the LED, said C&K.

Measuring 8mm x 8.4mm x 6.1mm, the K5AT series tact switch is suitable for applications such as telecom and network infrastructure, server and storage reset buttons, as well as medical monitoring equipment and other industrial electronic panels. The RoHS-compliant tact switch offers an operating life of 100,000 cycles and features a gold-plated dome contact. IP40 dust protection and flux-tight sealing are also available.

Pricing starts at $3.20 in quantities of 4,500.
