Anritsu Instruments Co., a subsidiary of Anritsu Corp., has introduced its Network Master MT9090A Fault Locator Series, a micro-OTDR for installation and maintenance of FTTx and short-range optical networks.

Until now, the right tool just didn't exist for cost effectively testing short fibers. Traditional handheld OTDRs and Fault Locators lacked the resolution and specifications to find issues in such short spans while mini-OTDRs were too large, too expensive and too complicated.

The new MT9090A with MU909011A Fault Locator Module from Anritsu addresses this need by providing all the features and performance required for installation and maintenance of short fibers in a compact, modular test set. The MT9090A represents an unmatched level of value and ease of use, while not compromising performance. Data sampling of 5cm and deadzones of less than 1m, ensure accurate and complete fiber evaluation while a simple testing sequence requires only one key press to initiateallowing anyone to make error-free measurements.

"The Network Master MT9090A/MU909011A is the first pocket-size Fault Locator that does not compromise performance. It features extremely high resolution to see those closely spaces splices and connectors, while providing unmatched simplicity. An integrated testing sequence, as well as no cumbersome set-up, ensures every technician will acquire consistent and accurate results" says Stephen Colangelo, senior business development manager, Anritsu Instruments. "The Network Master represents a new era in drop cable and premise testing. Its ease of use, low price, high-resolution and size makes this the perfect product for your last-mile testing needs".

The MT9090A features a high resolution indoor/outdoor display, quick start up, integrated or USB data storage, full trace viewing capabilities and a built-in 10m (30 ft) launch fiber to ensure even the initial connector is evaluated. Integrated visual fault locator (red light) and power meter options are also available.
