Ramtron International Corp. has added another 4Kbit FRAM memory device to its Grade 1 AEC-Q100-qualified automotive product line, growing its number of 125C parts to five.

The FM25040A-GA, a 4Kbit, 5V FRAM with a high-speed SPI, is now specified to operate at 125C and is guaranteed to retain data for 9,000hrs at that extreme temperature.

Well-suited for advanced powertrain systems, the FM25040A-GA offers fast writes, virtually unlimited endurance and low power. In stringent data collection applications, FRAM enables rapid and frequent writes to prevent data loss and guarantee data integrity in noisy automotive environments.

The FM25040A-GA is a 4Kbit non-volatile RAM with an industry-standard SPI that leverages the high-speed write capability of FRAM technology. This 4Kbit FRAM automotive device is a direct hardware replacement for equivalent EEPROMs but offers No Delay writes, much higher endurance and lower operating currents.

The FM25040A-GA reads and writes at bus speeds up to 14MHz, boasts a 10?A standby current, and includes an advanced write protection scheme to prevent inadvertent writes and data corruption.
