Rohm Co. Ltd has developed ultralow-ohmic chip resistors between 2m? and 10m? in the 2012 (0805)[PMR10] and 3216 (1206)[PMR18] sizes for current detection in compact power supplies and surge control circuits requiring further miniaturization in component size and detection resistance. Proprietary manufacturing methods are used for dramatically improved power ratings, and utilization of a special alloy with superior electrical characteristics for the resistive element results in ultra-low resistance values (2-10m?) and a resistance temperature coefficient of #177;150ppm/C, making them ideal for HDDs, power supply control in mobile devices such as notebook PCs, and current detection and protection circuits

These two latest additions bring ROHM's lineup of low ohmic resistors for current detection to six [in the 6432(2412), 5025(2010), 3225(1210), 1608(0603), 2012(0805), and 3216(1206) sizes], making it possible to meet the low resistance demands of virtually any application.

Samples will ship December 2007 at the sample price of 30 cents each. Mass production scheduled for January 2008.
