A relay that offers a lower profile than existing packages while maintaining an industry-standard footprint has been launched by Omron Electronic Components LLC. The G5LA relay measures 19.6mm x 15.6mm x 15.6 mm and. It offers a switching capacity of 10A at 250Vac/24Vdc on the normally open contacts and 5A at 125Vac/24Vdc on the normally closed contacts with a typical electrical life of 100,000 operations at those rated loads. The relay conforms to VDE0435, UL508, and CSA 22.2 standards. The nominal coil power consumption is 360mW for the 5-, 9-, 12- and 24Vdc coils. The consumption is 480mW for the 48Vdc coil.

The high-capacity G5LA-E relays offer a resistive load rating of 5A at 250Vac/24Vdc on the normally closed contacts. They also have a 10A at 277Vac, general use, and a 100,000 cycle rating per UL on the normally closed contacts. They are designed to operate in an ambient operating temperature range of -40 C to +85 C and are available with a Class F coil insulation (G5LA-CF).

These relays are well-suited for appliance applications including dishwashers, dryers, microwave ovens, ovens, and washing machines; HVAC applications such as blowers, igniters, compressors, valves, and motors as well as security products such as alarms, door controls, and smoke detectors. All models are RoHS compliant.

The relays are priced from 49 to 68 cents each in quantities of 500. Delivery is stock to 10 weeks.
