The interest in Apple continued, with the iPhone teardown taking top spot in our most-read list for July. The finding that many of the parts were unknown and unidentifiable reflected the turbulence of the quarter. In August, reports of flash prices falling drastically shook the HDD market, and Apple let its influence be known again as iSuppli reported that the company drove the largest increase in semiconductor spending among the top 10 electronics equipment manufacturers in the United States. September highlighted the confusion and rivalry between HD DVD and Blu-ray, while the government of India rebutted the claim of Intel's Barrett that policy delays forced the chip giant to look for a foundry site elsewhere.
