Metalink unwraps dual-mode 802.11n chipset

Metalink Ltd has announced that its 802.11n WLANPlus chipset is now commercially available and will be showcased at the CES trade show in Las Vegas from Jan. 7-10.

The chipset and reference designs have been available to selected customers for about six months. Metalink releases dual-band 802.11n reference design.

Metalink's CES demos will feature concurrent transmission of data applications over the 2.4GHz frequency band and delivery of multiple HD video streams over the 5GHz band, all at wire-line quality and speeds. Metalink will also demonstrate the interoperability of WLANPlus with a variety of networking products by major manufacturers.

Metalink's WLANPlus chipset has already been integrated into system-level products of selected OEMs.

The demos will include a variety of networking and consumer products, including single-band routers, concurrent dual-band routers, concurrent dual-band residential gateways, video bridges, IP STBs, PVRs and wireless TVs.
