AMD taps Denali's flash tech for next-gen handhelds

EDA software and IP supplier Denali Software Inc. has licensed its NAND flash technology to Advanced Micro Devices Inc.

AMD plans to use Denali's Databahn NAND flash controller and Spectra flash file system for next-generation processors for handheld devices.

Denali said it would also license to AMD NAND flash controller core technology, including hardware and source code along with test and simulation support.

Denali's flash technology is expected to be used in future versions of the AMD's Imageon media processor.
