eMagin Corp. is demonstrating its SVGA 3DS OLED-XL microdisplay at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Touting the industry's smallest pixel pitch for mobile virtual imaging products, the SVGA 3DS OLED-XL offers both analog and digital signal processing in a compact 0.44-inch display with high power efficiency.

The high-density OLED-on-silicon microdisplay is said to provide an affordable, easy-to-integrate solution for many virtual imaging systems. The SVGA-3DS microdisplays eliminate the need for extra circuitry and components while allowing for a smaller display module design with increased functionality and without an increase in power consumption, according to the company.

Specific features include increased pixel uniformity, improved color gamut, on-chip temperature sensor and compensation, and compatibility with both analog RGB and digital video signals. The 800 x 600pixel array comprises triads of vertical sub-pixels stacked side by side to make up each 11.1?m x 11.1?m color pixel. It also offers timing controls that accommodate a variety of video formats. On-board circuitry ensures consistent color and brightness over a wide range of operating temperatures.

The company will showcase its SVGA 3DS OLED-XL microdisplay at the CES event in the South Hall of the LVCC. Also on display will be the INDICUBE i-800 personal media player from Dreamax, equipped with eMagin's OLED microdisplay.
