Designed to improve car-radio reception, Atmel Corp.'s ATR4262 broadcast radio front-end IC is compatible with the major radio standards, including HD Radio, DRM and AM/FM.

The ATR4262 is a world tuner device covering all AM/FM frequencies worldwide. Its FM section handles the frequency range from 70MHz to 166MHz, including weather band and HD Radio in the United States. The AM path covers the entire broadcasting frequency range from 150kHz up to 30MHz, including modern DRM systems.

The ATR4262 provides several control possibilities, allowing connection to various baseband processors.

Pricing starts at $2 each for 100,000-piece quantities. Samples are available in small QFN packages.
