VersaLogic Corp. announced two versions of its Cobra single board computer (SBC) that are RoHS compliant and available in both standard (0C to 60) and extended (-40 to 85C) temperature versions.

High-end applications include transportation, automation, medical equipment and other areas where extreme reliability is needed. Using the Intel Pentium M processor and 855 GME chipset, the Cobras are complete SBCs on an EBX platform.

The EBX-12p (standard temperature version) features a 1.8GHz Pentium M processor while the EBX 12t (extended temperature version) features a 1GHz Pentium M processor. Both boards include on-board support for up to 2 GB RAM, Extreme Graphics 2 video, Ethernet, USB, serial communication, and analog and digital I/O.

The boards include specialized reliability features, such as TVS devices to protect against ESD damage, a watchdog timer and CPU temperature sensor and an OEM-enhanced, field-upgradeable embedded BIOS. Off the shelf options include GbE, analog I/O and a pass-through PC/104-Plus connector. Customizations include conformal coating, customized BIOS and many other options.

Cobra is designed to work with embedded OS including Windows CE/XP/XPe, Linux, VxWorks, QNX, DOS, and other RTOS.

Pricing starts at about $1,500 in OEM quantities. The devices are available from stock.
