Tuner card handles China HDTV broadcast

ViXS Systems Inc. has launched a low-cost, feature-rich digital terrestrial TV tuner card reference design for the rapidly growing GB20600-2006 market in China. The design will allow users to inexpensively and easily capture, display and record HDTV broadcast programs on their PC or laptop.

In cooperation with Tsinghua University, Legend Silicon has developed GB20600-2006 as a standard which has been adopted by China as the foundation for all digital terrestrial TV broadcast (DTTB). Among its many benefits, the GB20600-2006 provides high-quality broadcast TV to indoor, fixed, portable and mobile TV clients.

The ViXS XCode 2100 Series ASIC will provide advanced video processing features such as flexible interconnectivity, bitrate reduction, transcoding, DRM and other security featuresall in a low-cost ASIC.
