New Japan Radio Co. Ltd has released the NJM2583A, a high-definition (HD) signal-compatible 6ch video amplifier that is capable of handling analog video output for devices such as Blu-ray and HD DVD players and digital tuners.

NJR developed the NJM2583 as the rapid advance of AV devices toward the high-definition era raises demand for HDMI ports and built-in analog HD signal output ports.

Consisting of a 6dB video amplifier, a 75 driver and a low pass filter (LPF) for eliminating noise from the DAC, the NJM2583A is capable of component video output (D port) for HD images, as well as composite video output and S video output. The amplifier thereby integrates the features required for a Blu-ray or HD DVD player's analog video output function in a single chip.

The HD signal-compatible 6ch video amplifier (NJM2566A) required a 470?F-1,000?F condenser in the output section, but the sag correction feature of the NJM2583A allowed for a smaller capacity condenser, realizing a downsized mounting board.

NJM2583A features three built-in 30MHz cutoff frequency LPFs, allowing for HD picture signal up to D4 (1,080i) level, as well as sag correction feature that downsizes external condenser for output and saves space.

Housed in SSOP32, samples of the NJM2583A video amplifier are already available.
