ZCAT08V-BK

TDK Corp. has developed what it claims as the industry's first automotive clamp filter, the ZCAT08V-BK, ZCAT12V-BK.

EMC countermeasures for onboard automotive electronic components have become crucial as the use of electronic control grows in conjunction with the adoption of increasingly advanced functions and the use of electronic equipment for more functions.

To meet this market need, TDK developed clamp filters that are suitable for automotive use as an effective noise countermeasure against the effects of electromagnetic noise on the cables that link the various onboard ECUs and units. TDK's clamp filters have an original structure consisting of a vertically split cylindrical ferrite core with an integrated resin case for mounting on cables. The ferrite material, a key component of the filter, provides outstanding magnetic characteristics and high-frequency absorption properties achieved through precise control of the fine structure using TDK's original materials and process technologies.

The device's resin case and core material have been improved to enhance heat and shock resistance for use in automotive applications. The operating temperature range has been increased from earlier TDK products (-25C-85C) to -40C-125C.

The ZCAT08V-BK device has an impedance of 120 (measurement frequency: 100MHz). The device measures 33mm, with an exterior diameter at 18mm and an interior diameter of 8mm. The ZCAT12V-BK product has an impedance of 140 (measurement frequency: 100MHz). It measures 35mm, with an exterior diameter of 27mm and an interior diameter of 12mm.

Sampling price starts at $2.80 for volume orders.
