Infineon RFIC equips Panasonic car TV tuner

An RF tuner IC from Infineon Technologies AG is being used by Panasonic Electronic Devices Co. Ltd for its digital car TV tuner.

Infineon has already started shipment of the TUA6045 to Panasonic for production of the digital car TV tuner. The TUA6045 provides a high quality TV signal to the demodulator and decoder, enabling Panasonic's system to provide a clear, sharp picture to the car entertainment system display.

"The OmniTune TUA6045 is a compact and highly advanced RF tuner with proven quality and capabilities," said Masashi Yasuda of Panasonic. "The device made it possible for us to develop a high performance RF tuner for mobile TV reception in automotive applications. This solution will enable people to enjoy a better quality of life with TV services while on the move in the car."
