Rich Beyer moves from Intersil to Freescale.

Rich Beyer has resigned as Intersil Corp. CEO and director to assume the chairman and CEO positions at Freescale Semiconductor effective March.

Beyer will remain employed by and continue to work with Intersil's board of directors and the Intersil management team through a transition period. The board has unanimously approved the appointment of David Bell as president and CEO.

Beyer succeeds Michel Mayer, who will continue to serve as chairman of the board and CEO of Freescale until March 2008.

"The breadth and depth of Freescale's technology, its market leadership positions and the strength of its global customer base provide an exceptional foundation for the company's future success," said Beyer. "I look forward to working with the entire Freescale team to build on the long-standing culture of innovation and to solidify our position as a pre-eminent designer and manufacturer of semiconductor solutions."
