Taiwan-based eMemory Technology Inc., a provider of logic embedded non-volatile memory (NVM) intellectual property (IP), has agreed to collaborate with Korean analog and mixed-signal chip provider MagnaChip Semiconductor Ltd in the development of embedded NVM technology and the qualification of an 0.18?m One Time Programmable (OTP) macro using both the CMOS logic and high-voltage processes.

eMemory's OTP technology can be applied in analog, LCD driver, and network ICs for the purpose of data storage, code programming, and trimming. The technology does not require any additional mask or process steps, claims the company.

"We believe eMemory's leading edge technologies, combined with MagnaChip's reliable, advanced manufacturing capabilities, will allow us to provide robust and cost-effective manufacturing solutions," said Channy Lee, executive VP and general manager of MagnaChip's semiconductor manufacturing service division. "Specifically, the alliance will permit us to better serve the increasing demand for compact size and the need for flexibility in high-voltage products."
