American Reliance (Amrel) has introduced a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) high-power-density fixed power supply that delivers 1.2kW in a 16inch x 7.5inch x 3.5inch package, which the company says is a 30 percent power increase vs. the leading competitive product.

Building on its military-grade MFP1200 that delivers a convection-cooled 1.2kW output, a wide range 95 percent PFC input and a precision-regulated dc output with less than 5mVrms of noise, Amrel is now releasing its sealed and rugged COTS MFP1200. Without sacrificing performance, the conformal coated internal DC power engine is enclosed in a rain, dust, sleet and sand resistant package; sealed watertight and then extensively tested under temperature cycles from -40C to 65C.

The MFP-1200 provides an operating input voltage range of 95-250Vac with an input frequency range of DC; 45-440Hz. For applications with a 400Hz AC generator or a DC power source, the MFP-1200 can power devices on aerial or ground vehicles with an adjustable DC voltage from 24Vdc to 28Vdc at 1.2kW. The MFP-1200 generates a precision-regulated DC output with a ripple of 5mVrms, providing a suitable source for noise-sensitive devices. The power supply is designed according to MIL-STD810D shock and vibration standards as well as MIL-STD 461E EMI/RFI standards.

Amrel is exhibiting at the Military and Aerospace Forum.
