Japan probes overheating iPod nano

Adding to the list of overheating consumer products, Japan's Industry Ministry reported that an iPod nano overheated and discharged sparks, according to Agence France-Presse.

According to the ministry's investigation, the battery part of the device overheated and sparked while being charged.

Apple Japan could not be reached immediately but has issued a public warning that iPod, iPod nano or iPod shuffle may generate excess heat while being charged in certain carry cases.
