A new law in China, could interfere with Microsoft Corp.'s hostile $44 billion takeover bid of Yahoo Inc., according to the United Press International.

The law, which takes effect Aug. 1, gives regulators in China the right to review takeovers and acquisitions on antimonopoly concerns if the deal involves China companies. Since Yahoo purchased 40 percent of China's in 2005, the takeover proposed by Microsoft in February could be affected.

An antitrust expert Nathan Bush of the O'Melveny and Myers in Beijing, told the New York Times that multinational corporations need to develop strategies for all the markets they operate in especially on a big market like China.
