MicroPower Direct has introduced the DM100E series of miniature 1W DC/DC converters housed in 6-pin SIP packages, occupying a 0.15-inch? footprint ( 0.65 x 0.23) with a 0.3-inch profile.

Available in single and dual outputs, the DM100E series offers 12 models that operate from 5Vdc and 12Vdc inputs, providing outputs of 5-, 12-, 15-, 5-, 12- or 15 Vdc. Standard features include an input/output isolation of 1,000Vdc, an internal filter, efficiency as high as 81 percent and low noise operation. The MTBF (per MIL HDBK 217F) is greater than 3.5Mhrs.

Each model is specified for operation over the industrial operating temperature range of -40C to 85C ambient. No derating or heat sinking is required over this range. Cooling is provided by free-air convection.

The DM100E series is suitable for a variety of board-level power applications including industrial process systems, medical equipment and instrumentation, data processing equipment, robotic systems and power distribution subsystems. All models meet RoHS requirements. The devices are part of the company's "Cost Cutter" series of products.

Typical pricing is $3.35 for all 12 models in quantities of 100. Delivery is from stock to six weeks.
