AAT1210 Eval: High-power DC/DC boost converter with optional dynamic voltage programming

The AAT1210 evaluation board provides a platform for test and evaluation of the AAT1210 switching boost regulator. The evaluation board demonstrates suggested size and placement of external components to achieve output voltages from Vin + 0.5V to 18V and up to 900mA of maximum output current (Vout = 5V). The external components are selected for small size to suit portable electronic applications while the layout has been optimized to achieve high efficiency and low output noise with the TDFN34-12 package. The design operates across an input voltage range from 2.7V to 5.5V. The AAT1210 evaluation board provides a single 5V or 9V output voltage rail with 380mA (Vout = 9V) to 600mA (Vout =5V) of typical output current respectively. The desired output is determined by the jumpers positioned on JP1, JP2 and the logic level of the SEL pin. Connecting SEL to logic high (Vin) sets the output voltage to 9V while logic low (GND) sets the output voltage to 5V. S?Cwire programming sets the output from 5V (FB2 = 0.6V, default) to 10.1V (FB2 = 1.2V). This document provides details on the operation and testing of the AAT1210 evaluation board. Modification of the resistor divider network (R1, R2, R3) allows outputs from VIN + 0.5V to 18V.
