SEH has introduced the PS56 print server, a new WLAN interface card, for connecting HP printers to WLANs supporting WPA and WPA2 encryption standards. The PS56 is an IPv6-enabled print server connecting all HP output devices that have an EIO port to a wireless 54Mbit network (802.11g), using the highly-secure WPA and WPA2 WLAN encryption standards.

The SEH PS56 print server uses WPA/WPA2both the Personal and Enterprise modeencryption. The standard utilizes dynamic keys for encryption, providing a stronger encryption mechanism through Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). AES is mandatory for meeting the FIPS 140-2 (Federal Information Processing Standard), which outlines U.S. Federal government requirements for IT products implementing cryptography. The PS56 is also compatible with those networks utilizing the previous WEP standard, as well as the WLAN standard 802.11b.

To further enhance security, the PS56 also includes TLS/SSL encryption, and several IEEE 802.1X authentication methods. It features the latest ThinPrint .print client, including ThinPrint SSL support. The SEH PS56, as well as all SEH high-end print servers, supports all common OS and protocols, and includes a full program of service and warranty.

The SEH PS56 will be available in June at a recommended retail price of about $320.
