TFT LCD modules add Lua scripting function

The Lua embedded scripting language adds flexibility to the ezLCD-10X series product, speeding up development time for products requiring a GUI. It combines simple procedural syntax with powerful data description constructs based on associative arrays and extensive semantics, making it suitable for configuration, scripting and rapid prototyping. The company said with the Lua scripting language, exLCDs can now replace more complex embedded PCs and complicated OS for embedded systems and applications that require a touch-screen GUI.
Available in four sizes3.5-, 6.4-, 8- and 10.4-inchthe ezLCD-10X series incorporates a LCD, controller, LCD driver circuitry, processor and graphics controller, which are all required components for fast GUI integration. The PC-based software utility allows the user to quickly upload bitmaps, customized fonts, icons and graphics. Existing embedded products can add a GUI or status display LCD quickly and with little change to the system, EarthLCD said.
The ezLCD-10X series features an integrated touch screen, USB 2.0, true RS-232, SD/MMC, SPI communication ports, and RoHS compliance. Depending on the model, displays range from 320 x 240 color TFT to 800 x 600 color TFT with a 12.5V or 3.3V supply voltage.
Pricing for ezLCD-10X series with Lua compatibility starts at $150 in production quantities. Delivery is four to six weeks.
