V-to-F converter (continuous type) and wind noise simulator

Keywords:CY8C27143 application note? wind noise simulator? voltage to frequency converter?

Full hardware analog processing is implemented to simulate wind noise. It is demonstrated that the PSoC analog and digital blocks from Cypress Semiconductor allow building a wide range voltage-to-frequency converter. Such a converter may be used in other applications (for example, RF synthesizers, frequency-shift keying modulators, and so on). Accepting some minor changes in the frequency response of a BPF2 User Module caused by a non-standard connection, the two-channel filter bank is easily implemented using only five analog PSoC blocks. The mix altitude and column clocks are set variously and individually for each filter, for special audio effect purposes. With the same acceptance, the three-channel filter bank may also be implemented for applications such as speech synthesis.
