Optical encoders tailored for industrial, factory automation
Keywords:optical encoders? factory automation?
The AEDT-9140 encoder modules include a lensed LED source and a detector IC enclosed in a small plastic package. When used with a codewheel, the low-cost module series detects rotary position. Due to a highly collimated light source and a unique photodetector array, the AEDT-9140 modules are extremely tolerant to mounting misalignment. Typical industrial automation applications include industrial printers, plotters, tape drives, machine tools and industrial and factory automation equipment.
The AEDT-9140 modules, which operate from a single 5V supply, offer two channel quadrature outputs plus a third channel index output. They are designed for use with a codewheel that has an optical radius of 11mm (0.433-inch) for 100 to 512 CPR and 11.68mm (0.460-inch) for 1,000 CPR. The index output is a 90 electrical degree high true index pulse that is generated once for each full rotation of the codewheel. The operating temperature range is -40C to 115C. The devices are RoHS compliant.
Pricing starts at $18.50 in quantities of 1,000. Samples and production quantities are available now.
