Companies focusing on production technology for solar silicon ingots, wafers, solar cells and photovoltaic (PV) modules have joined forces in launching the International Photovoltaic Equipment Association (IPVEA). The group intends to intensify cooperation and unlock synergies.

According to the group, more than 30 companies from Asia, Europe and United States are recently members of the organization. "Representatives from Ebara Precision Machinery, Kuka Systems, Oerlikon SA, Reis Robotics, Schiller Automation, Stangl Semiconductor and 3S Swiss Solar Systems were elected to the management board," the group said.

Aside from synergies in development and cooperation at the technology level, the group added that it aspires to bundle their members' presence at international trade fairs and expositions against the background of an inflationary increase of such events.

Hans-Juergen Stangl, newly elected IPVEA chairman, Stangl Semiconductor, said he hopes that the launch of the association will be the first step to reduce cost- and time-intensive presence of the member companies at fairs.
