China MII grants 29 TD-SCDMA terminal licenses

The China Ministry of Information Industry (MII) has granted network access license to 19 TD-SCDMA terminal manufacturers, including foreign brands Motorola and Philips. A total of 29 types of terminals licenses, including 24 mobile phones and five data cards, were handed out, according to a report.

The 24 TD-SCDMA licensed cellphones are Datang TG1000, Philips TM700, Holley8310, HuaweiS220, HuaweiS330, HuaweiS660, HaierT300, HisenseT68, HisenseT66, LongcheerTD290, LenovoTD800, LGKD876, MotorolaL800t, SamsungL288, SamsungI688, TCLU398, UTStarcomD60, PandaTD988, AmoiT5, XinyoutongN268, Yulong Coolpad6260, ZTEU85, ZTEU980 and ZTEU981.

The five licensed data card are Chongyou D-HSDPA data card TCN230, Datang Data Card DTM5722, Huawei Data Card ET608, Xinyoutong TD-HSDPAData Card H301 and ZTE Data CardMU318.

Compared to the six types of TD-SCDMA terminals handed in April 1, when the standard was first put into commercial trial use, the category of the terminals has been much enriched with this expansion. Consumers are expected to have more options after China Mobile completes the second round of TD-SCDMA bidding.
