Amid the growing efforts to reduce energy consumption, Princeton Technology Corp. (PTC) has developed a technology for more energy-efficient lighting, and the company is highlighting this in its new line of lighting ICs, including high-power LED driver ICs and dimming controller ICs. In addition, PTC is showcasing these products this week (June 8-11) at the Guangzhou International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

According to PTC, its high power LED driver ICs (the PT69XX series) has the advantages of multiple protection schemes and high efficiency. In addition, each member of the series provides accurate luminance control, which helps to both lower cost and simplify design. The PT69XX series may be applied to LED backlighting, DC/DC or AC/DC LED devices, constant current lighting and decorative lighting applications. The PT6904 may also be used for automotive interior lighting.

Meanwhile, the dimming controller ICs (the PT56XX series) are another key product area for PTC. The PT5611 and PT5631 are dimming ballast controller ICs that implement closed-loop phase control and provide externally programmable features to support a high degree of flexibility. The PT5621 is a three-way dimming CFL controller IC for three-way switch dimming products and implements closed-loop current feedback control while supporting accurate switching and oscillation frequencies. The PT5621 is a drop-in replacement for other IC products with the same specification. The PT56XX series is offered in either DIP16 or SOP16 package types.
