O2Micro receives power control methodology patent

Power management IC supplier O2Micro International Ltd has been issued eight claims under U.S. Patent No. 7,378,896 for its Single Pin for Multiple Functional Control methodology.

The patented invention provides a method and apparatus using a single pin to support power input and control functions for an IC in portable consumer products such as digital camera applications.

Laszlo Lipcsei, VP, O2Micro, added, "This invention allows O2Micro to offer IC solutions with reduced pin count and power consumption."
