Sine wave inverters promise 3-phase output

Schaefer Inc. announced the IV Series of DC/AC inverters that synchronizes three individual switch mode inverters and three output transformers, yielding a symmetrical 3-phase output.

The transformers provide I/O isolation, while transforming the voltages to user-required outputs. More than 150 standard models are available with power ratings, ranging from 600VA to 30kVA. Eight different input ranges from 20Vdc to 800Vdc are standard, with a choice of 3x200Vac, 3x400Vac, or 3X480Vac outputs.

Housed in modular systems with interchangeable inverters, the IV Series features the ability to select either adjustable/programmable, fixed, or synchronized frequencies, allows for unsymmetrical load configurations, and has surge power capability.

Operating temperature is -20C to 75C, with -40C as an option. Additional options include further mechanical ruggedization for extreme environments and programming/monitoring functions. The use of industrial grade components, continuous short circuit protection, overload protection, and thermal shutdown with auto restart make the Schaefer IV Series suitable for critical applications.

Mechanical and electrical modifications to standard modules are readily available upon request. In addition, Schaefer can design and manufacture fully custom solutions.

Pricing starts at $5,800 for 100 pieces. Availability is six to eight weeks ARO.
