Keywords:component arrays? multilayer ceramic capacitors? inductors?

Novacap, a Dover Co., has introduced the Cap-Rack (CR) series of component arrays that integrate a custom selection of individual ceramic components into a single surface-mount package. Components can consist of highly matched multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) and/or a combination of MLCCs with dissimilar capacitance values and dielectrics (NPO, X7R). They also can be configured to include other passive devices such as ceramic resistors and inductors.

CR assemblies are well suited for high-reliability applications including implanted medical devices and military, aerospace, space and high-end telecom equipment.

Other key features include negligible crosstalk because the components are separated by high-temperature epoxy to minimize coupling, and improvements in board process efficiency by placing one component instead of several. MIL-PRF screening is available as an option for individual components prior to assembly.

Cap-Rack arrays are available in various chip-size groupings up to eight chips.

Pricing range from $2 to $4 each depending on requirements. Devices are available now, with delivery in 12 to 16 weeks ARO depending on level of testing.
