Leadis Technology Inc. has shipped its first 1 million units of the LDS342, a QVGA LTPS LCD display driver for the Nokia E71 mobile phones. The display driver was developed in a partnership with Sharp Corp. It is a landscape QVGA LTPS LCD driver that targets mobile consumer applications. It has integrated full frame memory to support up to 16M colors reducing power consumption dramatically over RAMless designs. The device also supports 128 gray levels, 6:1 Mux, 4 Gamma sets, and external EEPROM.

"The LDS342 is a perfect single chip LCD driver for LTPS landscape QVGA applications," said Keeho Kim, general manager, display driver business, Leadis. "We are also pleased to be working with Sharp and Nokia to introduce a higher quality display," he added.
