NEC puts up LTE demonstration center in Japan
Keywords:LTE demonstration center? Long Term Evolution? LTE network architecture?
The center enables NEC to demonstrate high quality, end-to-end LTE systems that are comprised of subscriber terminals, core networks, application servers and wireless access products, such as flat architecture compact base stations and remote radio equipment. The LTE network architecture is less complex than a 3G system and provides high speed/high volume data communication with reduced latency and greater cost efficiency for network construction.
Following careful deliberation, NEC was selected by NTT DoCoMo as a vendor for the development and manufacture of "Super 3G" wireless base station equipment and "Super 3G" mobile handsets. The selection shows NTT DoCoMo's regard for NEC's extensive track record as a reliable and experienced total solutions provider in the mobile business field.
In February, NEC and Alcatel-Lucent agreed to form a joint venture that focuses on the development and delivery of LTE wireless broadband solutions for communications providers worldwide.
NEC will capitalize on the LTE facility to offer customers first-hand experience with advanced mobile technologies that provide high speed/high volume data communication with reduced latency.
