Iomega Corp. has released the new Iomega ScreenPlay TV Link, offering faster and affordable access to multimedia content on any HDTV or home theater system. With full-function remote control, the new ScreenPlay TV Link has user-friendly USB port for attaching compatible storage devices while viewing your favorite high-quality movies, music and photos at home.

With its compact size, smaller than a deck of playing cards, the new TV Link has the same display technology as Iomega's ScreenPlay HD Multimedia drive, launched in April, and provides the same audio and video quality with upscaling to high-definition. While the ScreenPlay HD Multimedia Drive features a fully integrated 500Gbyte hard drive solution, this new product gives users flexibility to use their USB external storage devices to the ScreenPlay TV Link and view any media content on the attached TV. This enables them to enjoy a multimedia solution that has different storage devices that can also be helpful whenever sharing media files with friends or coworkers. Other USB devices that are compatible with the new ScreenPlay TV Link are flash drives, hard drives, and REV drives.

Portable entertainment system
"The ScreenPlay TV Link is an ultraportable device that offers everyone many options to share family photos, play music and enjoy videos," said Loren Bryner, global product manager, Iomega. "It turns any TV or home theater into party central for computer-based media content. There's no easier way to enjoy photos, music or downloadable movies," he added.

The portable TV Link has a remote control for easy navigation as well as a full complement of advanced video outputs for bringing high-resolution digital photos and video.

Package for all
"We've made a product that is exciting, functional and affordable for anyone who enjoys digital content," said Bryner. "The ScreenPlay TV link bridges the computer world of digital media files with the home theater system with HDTV that transforms the natural family room into a new way of home entertainment," he added.

TV Link other specs
Aside from TV Link playing stored media content from USB storage media like flash drives, hard drives (NTFS or FAT32), and Rev drives, there are video connection options like HDMI, component and composite video and a SCART adapter for global markets. Regarding audio connection options, composite RCA and coaxial S/PDIF are available. With the HDMI or component outputs, the user can have video settings from 480p/720p/1080i (720p and 1080i are achieved through upscaling). Supported media formats are MP3, AC3 (Dolby Digital Encoding), WAV, WMA, MPEG-1, MPEG-2 (AVI/VOB), MPEG-4 (AVI/DiVX 3.11, 4.x, 5.x/XViD) and JPEG.

The TV Link measures 3.26-inch x 3.07-inch x 0.78-inch and less than 4lb in weight. It has a similar dimension with the drink coaster. It is compatible with standard TVs and HDTVs.
