Astrodyne Corp. has expanded its Ethernet as the first mile (EFM) series of ultraminiature open-frame modular switching power supplies for EMC noise compliance to EN55022, Class B.

Designed for both medical (EFM30/M) instrumentation, and commercial grade (EFM30) industrial control and telecommunication systems, this series of AC/DC switching power supplies enables to meet the power and EMC noise performance requirements of a wide range of applications.

The EFM30 and EFM30/M series are pin-out and size compatible with more costly encapsulated modules. All models accept universal input from 90-264Vac while 11 models provide output power of 30W with single, dual and triple outputs from 5Vdc to 48Vdc. The EFM series features an integral power-good LED indicator and output adjustment potentiometer and will operate over the ambient temperature range of -10C to 50C without forced cooling or output power derating.

All models contain overvoltage and short circuit protection circuitry, and internal input filtering. The EFM30/M series is fully approved to UL/EN60601-1 medical safety specifications. Meanwhile, the EFM30 series is fully approved to UL/EN60950-1 commercial industrial specifications. The unit's space-saving dimensions are 3.41-inch x 2.36-inch x 0.93-inch. All models are RoHS 2002/95/EC compliant and are designed for PCB plug-in mounting.
