Yokogawa Electric Corp. has developed the AQ6370B as an enhanced replacement for the AQ6370 optical spectrum analyzer. Key improvements include the removal of Littrow light reflections, 50 percent improvement in measurement time over the previous analyzer, and faster command processing speeds, which translate into higher measurement quality and efficiency, along with lower cost on the production line.

The AQ6370B provides a 50 percent improvement in throughput over the AQ6370 model and a measurement speed 10x faster than the AQ6317 series, which will significantly improve the measurement time in an automatic measurement system at a production site.

The monochromator, which resolves a beam of light by wavelength, reduces noise caused by the measurement of light near the optical signal thus producing greater accuracy. In addition, a new close-in dynamic rangethe ability to suppress the optical noise near the optical signal in resolving light by wavelengthmeasurement area of peak 0.1nm allows DWDM signals to be measured more accurately.

The weight of the body is reduced also to 19kg, making the analyzer 30 percent lighter than the previous model.

The AQ6370B optical spectrum analyzer is available for $31,900. Delivery is four weeks.
