This application note covers the essential background information and design theory needed to design low noise, precision op amp circuits. The focus is on simple, results oriented methods and approximations useful for circuits with a low-pass response.

The material will be of interest to engineers who design op amps circuits which need better SNR, and who want to evaluate the design trade-offs quickly and effectively.

This application note is general enough to cover both voltage feedback (traditional) and current feedback op amps. The examples, however, will be limited to Microchip's voltage feedback op amps.
