The United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has affirmed a U.S International Trade Commission (ITC) ruling that Advanced Analogic Technologies Inc. (AnalogicTech) did not infringed Linear Technology Corp.'s patents in its charge pump product line.

In its ruling, the Court of Appeals sustained the ITC's determination that U.S. Patent No. 6,411,531 ('531 Patent) owned by Linear is invalid over the prior art. The ruling left untouched the ITC's findings of non-infringement and lack of domestic industry.

"We are very pleased to see the favorable ruling to AnalogicTech by the U.S. Court of Appeals," stated Richard K. Williams, president, CTO and CEO of AnalogicTech. "The affirmation of patent invalidity combined with the earlier holdings of non-infringement and lack of domestic industry vindicates our long-held belief that our products do not infringe these intellectual property rights of Linear Technology. This ruling underscores the fundamental beliefs in and respect for intellectual property that our company was founded upon."
