Mini-ITX SBC integrates Intel EP80579 processor

ADI Engineering is offering the Ocracoke Island SBC designed to allow OEMs to deploy the Intel EP80579 Integrated Processor immediately in a wide variety of applications such as small-to-medium business (SMB) and enterprise security and communications appliances, WiMAX and Wi-Fi converged access devices, IP media servers, VoIP gateways, industrial automation, SMB and home network attached storage, and others.

Key features of the Ocracoke Island SBC include the Intel EP80579 Integrated Processor with Intel QuickAssist Technology at 1,200MHz or 600MHz (fanless operation at 600MHz), as well as DDR2 DIMM, which supports up to 4Gbyte and up to 800MHz with optional ECC. It also supports GbE with two standalone ports and 4-port managed switch, with passive fail over for inline security applications.

Ocracoke also has 802.11 a/b/g/n, WiMAX and 3G wireless expandability via dual MiniPCI slots and a PCIe MiniCard slot. Additional features include two Serial ATA 2.0 ports, two CAN ports, as well as two PCIe slots, including x1 and x4, four USB 2.0 host ports, two RS-232 ports.

Ocracoke Island SBC 1,200MHz version has a single unit MSRP sub $800 with substantial volume discounts. Devices are available now in production volumes.
