NDK (Nihon Dempa Kogyo Co. Ltd) has introduced its NCR-46 embedded timing module with an integrated GPS receiver that will automatically track and receive signals from GPS satellites. Once locked onto these signals it will deliver a highly precise 1 pulse/s (pps) output aligned UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) signal at 3.3Vdc.

The NCR-46 also delivers a highly stable 0.02ppm three-channel, 10MHz standard clock signal when locked on to the GPS signal, and a time of day (TOD)/GPS signal output. It features a RS-232C management port to confirm equipment conditions and an open collector alarm output to indicate if a non-stable state exists.

The NCR-46 operates on a +12Vdc 5 percent supply voltage drawing 10.5W at start up and 5W or less during stable state. It measures 123.4mm x 98mm x 29.3mm and operates in a temperature range of -20 to +70C. Applications include WiMAX, Long Term Evolution and next-generation Personal HandyPhone System (PHS) base stations.

Pricing is less than $1,000 for a standard NCR-46 model. Delivery is 8 to 12 weeks.
