Astrodyne Corp. has launched the FED20W series of modular packaged DC/DC converters for cost-sensitive power conversion requirements in board-level product applications like data acquisition, communications and industrial I/O.

The FED20W provides output power of 20W and accepts 4:1 wide range inputs from 9Vdc to 75Vdc. The series has 14 models that provide single and dual outputs from 3.3Vdc to 15Vdc.

All the converters' models contain short circuit protection, overvoltage protection and on/off control function. "An internal input filter eliminates the need for added external components and all models are pinout and size compatible with more expensive products," said Astrodyne.

At the same time, the FED20W series has 1,600V I/O isolation. The DC/DC converters operate over the ambient temperature range from -40C to +75C without forced cooling or output power derating. Each unit employs six-sided shielding and is fully encapsulated with five-sided nickel-coated copper and a FR4 base.
