The Motomate has a Crouzet built-in Milleneum2 controller, brushless motor drive, motor and gearbox in a compact 2-1/2-inch x 6-inch package. "The brushless motor provides a high motor efficiency of 90 percent. With the power electronics integrated directly inside the motor, the necessity for an external speed controller is reduced, optimizing space for tight product designs," said Crouzet.
The Motomate is available with a motor range of 30W or 80W in several configurations to meet all types of required movement. The motor produces up to 0.3nm in the direct drive configuration, up to 3.5nm in the right-angle configuration, and up to 30nm in the planetary configuration (custom torques also available).
Other key features are analog output and internal torque (current) sensing capabilities for increased application flexibility and intuitive programming with graphical function blocks that allow easy programming of acceleration/deceleration in a forward or backward motion with controlled time and speed ramps. Reprogramming is accomplished by using a PC or a removable memory module. Sensors and actuators can be added to the controller's I/O as the need for expansion is required.
The motor is designed to provide a service life of 20,000hr and continual torque force even under locked rotor conditions (BTN model only). The unit's 24Vdc supply voltage offers added security in case of accident or vandalism, and a battery supply option has a standard or back-up energy for on-board systems or critical medical equipment.
