Modular power supply delivers 90% efficiency
Keywords:power supply? module? planar magnetics?
The company attributes the high efficiency and power density of its power supplies to the recent low loss and surface mount technologies, including planar magnetics, which are all used to help reduce thermal loads by more than 50 percent.
The XCE "powerPac" chassis can be employed with up to six off-the-shelf 25W to 200W "powerMod" output modules, giving single or dual outputs that range from 1Vdc to 59Vdc. All outputs are isolated with ultrawide adjustment ranges and can be used in either series or parallel to achieve any output voltage from 1Vdc to 59Vdc.
The "powerPac" chassis and "PowerMod" modules have independent safety approvals, having field-configuration while maintaining UL/cUL60950-1, EN60950-1 safety standards. All configurations include 5VSB, power good LED indicators and individual output module control signals. Medical versions of XCE are also available.
