Agilent Technologies Inc. has launched the PXB MIMO receiver tester for faster, more precise test of MIMO receivers in the design cycle.

The receiver tester is believed to help R&D engineers in developing and integrating MIMO receivers for 3GPP LTE, WiMAX and emerging wireless standards.

Agilent said the tester delivers the most updated, versatile signal creation and channel emulation capacities for the latest LTE and WiMAX standards. It supports 2x2, 2x4 and 4x2 MIMO having a bandwidth of 120MHz and has custom MIMO correlation settings (e.g. channel models, antenna pattern and correlation matrix). Agilent's Signal Studio signal-creation software works well in the instrument and offers an up-to-date standards-compliant signal creation.

Using PXB, the engineers can simulate real-life situations in the lab that easily test corner cases and stress devices beyond standards requirements. Designers can also check coexistence to ensure design robustness in the initial design process. With this advanced design system, the engineer's personalized waveform creation tool, up to four high-performance baseband generators (BBGs), can be summed for multiformat coexistence testing. Each BBG supports 120MHz modulation bandwidth with 512Msa of playback memory for long, complex signal simulation.
